Anniversary Message

This month, Foundations Community Partnership (FCP) officially launches its 15th anniversary celebration in recognition of its support of the behavioral health and human service needs of children, young adults, and their families. Since July 20, 2007, FCP invested more than $6 million in Bucks County’s non-profit organizations and community through grants and technical assistance, high school scholarships, service-learning internships for college students, and education programs and research.

FCP traces its roots to the Delaware Valley Mental Health Foundation which founded a small psychiatric hospital in Doylestown in 1964. By 1996, the hospital became known as Foundations Behavioral Health and its scope expanded to encompass a full range of behavioral health services for children and adolescents. In 2007, a for-profit organization acquired the hospital. As a result of the sale, FCP was established to continue the grantmaking, community education, internship, scholarship, and research activities of the hospital.

Reflecting on FCP’s long and proud history, I want to acknowledge Founding Executive Director Ron Bernstein for his vision to build this foundation into a catalyst for improving the quality of life in Bucks County. Further, I want to thank our senior consultant Dr. Dan Weldon for offering his expertise since FCP’s founding as well as former Associate Director Nancy DiNatale and current Associate Director Caroline O’Connell Sinton to help build the many programs and services that support our non-profit community to this day. Finally, our sincere thanks go to the many members of our Board of Directors, past and present, who gave their time and energy to help get us to this day.

Over the next year, we look forward to celebrating this significant milestone with all our grantees, stakeholders, employees, consultants, and friends. While we continue to face this global health crisis, we hope to share our 15th anniversary celebration with all of you at one of the events and activities we planned over the next 12 months.

Thank you for your continued commitment and support of FCP. We look forward to this celebration and future anniversaries to come!
